Nickname (and why?): Gavlar! From the BBC programme ‘Gavin and Stacey’!
Why did you start sailing and where?: Coming from a family with no sailing background, my Brother decided to get a Lark after sailing a bit at Sea Scouts. We went for a sail in it, capsized lots, loved it and from there I decided to get an Optimist in 2006 at Dabchicks SC.

ISAF Rules - Most influential racing rule and why?: Not usually someone to use protests and that lot, good sportsmanship and is what it’s about!
Funniest time on the water and where?: Taking an old Torch out in a gale with 2 friends, pushing the boat to the limit whilst imitating the famous 18ft skiff YouTube video of Team Nokia, eventually ending up ripping a shroud out the deck and having to paddle our way to the nearest shore and then walk the boat home through seemingly endless amounts of Mersea mud!
Favourite VR Race Team kit and why?: Will let you know…... but the Gul Code Zero Long John looks very nice
Top 3 Most Played iTunes tracks?: Big fan of Enter Shikari and The Kooks, not that anyone will know who they are!
