The Prism is a stripped down racing compass. Class legal anywhere an electronic compass is legal, the Prism provides superior accuracy, and a massive display all in an ultralight, compact package.

Massive Digits - The Prism's sunlight-readable, high-contrast LCD screen features 29.8mm (1.1") tall digits in a font that's optimised for readability. This means that if your boat's under 40ft long you'll be able to mount the Prism on your mast and read it easily from anywhere in the cockpit or side deck, even if you don't have perfect vision. 

Ultra-Wide Viewing Angle - With 250˚ of visibility, the Prism LCD's can be easily read from the helm to the trapeze wire.

Flexible & Secure Mounting - The Prism mounts to your boat via the slide-in cradle. The Prism Cradle can be mounted to a wide array of brackets, directly to a mast using the centreline holes and the Mast Bracket Hardware Kit, or directly to a bulkhead. Velocitek have even included recesses in the cradle in case you need to lash your compass in place.

1. Changing to a more durable and flexible adhesive for attaching the back lid on to the main housing.

2. Changing the circuit board design based on studying the failure modes of some returns that will not turn on.

3. Changing to a new version of the firmware that, for four seconds after the device is switched on, shows the battery state of charge as a number between 0 and 100. The battery capacity is very big compared to both the device's power consumption and the solar panel output. As a result, it takes a long time to run down the battery (about 100 hours running with no sun) and a long time to charge it from empty (about 50 hours in full sun). It seems like a common cause of returns is the user, over several months, running the battery down to empty and then assuming the device is broken when the battery indicator still shows empty after they leave it in the sun all day.

Velocitek's hope is that with the new firmware users will be able to see when the battery is getting gradually run down and start leaving the device in the sun earlier. Also, they will be able to see when the solar charging is working, even if it is not immediately reflected on the battery indicator.
