PROtect Chafe tapes are pressure sensitive using UHMWPE film with an aggresive acrylic adhesive. The result is a very tough material, with the highest impact strength of any thermoplastic presently made.
It has extremely low coefficent of friction, is self lubricating and highly resistant to abrasion (15 x more resistant to abrasion than carbon steel).
Typical applications on your boat:
- Dragging lines and ropes over the deck
- Mast and spreaders
- Under the boom to protect from spinnaker and gennaker sheets
- Pads on the deck for blocks and other hardware
