The I-Bone is used to replace the shackle or the carabiner to connect the mainsail and the halyard.
The strengths of the 'dog bone' are the reliability of the system. It supports higher loads than the textile shackle or the halyard carabiner and it's installation is faster.
The I-Bone has a number of benefits:
Durability: Inverted geometry of the I-Bone (thick at the center and thin at the ends) makes it more resistant than competing dog bones. It's quality aluminum is also a guarantee of solidity.
Lightness: Lightest on the market thanks to its special geometry.
Compactness: The I-Bone is narrower than conventional dog bones. Its ends do not protrude and are therefore not exposed to shocks. Another point: for the same reasons, the I-bone does not damage the bridge.
Durability: Made from anodised anti-corrosion marine aluminum.
Safety: The I-Bone is pierced to be able to be secured by a seam.
